inspired by my grandmother's angel food cake that i LOVE, i had to give it a shot!! i test trialed for a co-worker's birthday and then for my own birthday party. it tasted like grandma's... now to work on the aesthetics.
Fantastic! This is absolutely gorgeous and you are the 5th generation that I know of in our family carrying on this tradition. Your great grandmother Maude's Mother had this for her 50th Wedding Anniversary and that photo is on my post about mom making this cake.
i read about this angel food cake on Valerie's blog. your Grandma must've been very proud of you. looks like you've picked up some great baking genes, Lauren. your family has some pretty spectacular recipes. i've yet to try this angel food cake, but your mom's pavlova is my fave dessert, and your great grandma's gingerbread recipe is the best i've ever tasted.
